the weaving of time and scenarios.

intro_

how do we read quotidian landscapes? what networks and connections are revealed when you understand the infinitely small series of events that intervene in peoples time?

in the meanwhile, we can relate to a specific segment of time in which we share an
in- between state of mind and body that forms an ambiguous zone, more implicit than obvious, residual and multi-layered.

whilst luisa waited for the bus, whilst he waited in line, whilst he walked towards the church,
she ate thai food , meanwhile, her grandmother died.


our lives are constantly intertwined with meanwhile spaces and thus meanwhile encounters. how can we make the most of this time and these spaces and how do these activities engage with one another during the meanwhile?

the workshop will work towards revealing the meanwhile spaces in scenarios such as the market, the restaurant, the university, the home and the street, in which the design will be developed by a slow-seeing process towards the gridding of domestic happenings and or relevant elements that interact with the space and users and their spatial, emotional and social factors. what will the consequences of the interventions be? What scars will they leave in that time and afterwards?

the accomplices

the accomplices are members of colectivo tomate that are not architects but dancers, biologists, businessmen, writers, etc., who will be appointed to each group of students. they will become part of the creative process, working as guides towards the development of a perspective that can complement the architectural minds. they will push towards managing a more collective reasoning through these new branches of knowledge, in order to enrich the evolution of the project design.


materials

for the recording and gridding of the different elements of the meanwhile spaces in the first phase, will be presented in a free way. therefore, no specific materials are imposed. however it is recommended that each group have a form of documentation with a video and or digital camera for this part of the process as well as the gridding be in model form, with the use of non conventional materials trying to exclude cardboard or paper.

during the final phase of the workshop participants will be asked to embody their projects on a scale 1to 1 on site in which depending on their intervention, the materials will be chosen.
